Inspired by the work of early Enlightenment scientists and the manipulation of the very substance of the light itself, Troika’s chandeliers act as key components of the architectural refurbishment scheme designed by Matthew Lloyd Architects. Says Troika, “The principles at work in both chandeliers, namely the diffraction and controlled scattering of the light, is reminiscent of the early experiments of Sir Isaac Newton and the later Augustin Fresnel, while signifying a quest for deeper understanding which found a natural resonance with the values and legacy of the Royal Society of Arts, founded in 1754.” The chandeliers use large fresnel lenses to shape the light generated by high power LEDs on the outer edge into geometrical patterns projected onto the ceiling, “thus contributing compelling decorative elements to the surrounding spaces while providing the necessary illumination levels.”

The Grand Staircase chandelier (above) is comprised of a large 1.2m diameter fresnel lens, rimmed by a white Corian ring, and suspended in front of a rose-gold plated cradle housing 9 high power LEDs. “As the white light generated by the LEDs passes through the lens, a pattern of 9 overlapping rings is created, adorning the ceiling with a unique crystalline rose.”

Круговые люстры от TROIKA

Студия TROIKA создала две люстры для недавно отремонтированного дома Королевского общества покровительства искусствам.
Вдохновленные работами ученных эпохи Просвещения и самим светом, эти люстры являются ключевым компонентом архитектурного обновления, которое было воплощено студией Matthew Lloyd Architects.
Комментарий создателей: «Принципами работы каждой люстры являются дифракция и контролируемое рассеивание света, которые напоминают ранние эксперименты Исаака Ньютона и поздние работы Августина Фреснеля. Люстры символизируют поиски глубокого понимания, что также нашло свой отклик в ценностях и наследии Королевского общества искусств, которое было основано в 1754 году». Люстры при помощи больших линз Фреснеля отражают свет, генерируемый мощными светодиодами, и проецируют его на потолок в виде геометрических фигур. «Они также украшают окружающее пространство и гарантируют необходимый уровень освещения» Главная ступенчатая люстра (фото сверху) состоит из большой линзы Фреснеля (диаметр 1,2м), обрамленной белым кольцом Corian, которая подвешена перед розовой позолоченной колыбелью, где находится 9 мощных светодиодов. «Когда белый свет светодиодов проходит через линзу, девять перекрещивающихся колец отображаются на потолке, украшая его уникальной кристаллической розой».
