Speculative Species Evolution – Germany

Speculative Species Evolution is an art and research project exploring how life might evolve through AI, human intervention, and the Anthropocene. Using generative AI and evolutionary theory, it imagines new life forms — from silicon-based organisms to alien biological trajectories — shaped by climate change, synthetic biology, and post-natural ecosystems. The project exists through AI-generated images, animations, and public workshops where participants co-author future evolutionary narratives.

BIO

Helena Nikonole is a Berlin-based new media artist, curator, researcher, and educator working across AI, hacktivism, hybrid art, and biosemiotics. Moving between post-human futures, activist counter-technologies, and critical approaches to innovation, she is currently pursuing a PhD on LLMs and political ideologies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
