Abbie Miller holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. A fiber artist and clothing designer, her recent sculptures explore the visceral and associative qualities of vinyl. “Shifting from the extreme minutia of stitching to the physicality of monumental forms, my work examines the nature of objecthood in a nomadic mobile society.” She is the recipient of prestigious awards including the Purchase Award from the Academy of Arts and Letters (2014) and the Metcalf Award (2014). Exhibitions include the Invitational Exhibition at American Academy of Arts and Letters, Contemporary Northwest Art Awards at the Portland Art Museum, Nicolaysen Museum, Los Angeles Craft and Folk Art Museum, and many others.
