drummer Julien Audigier

Instead of using reverb effects or a music studio, Audio Zero and Wikidrummers had drummer Julien Audigier play the same drum pattern in different environments to capture natural echoes and decay patterns.

Audio Zero and Wikidrummers took to the streets for this muscial piece. Without any reverb effects or even a studio, drummer Julien Audigier played the exact same drum pattern but in various environments. The sound patterns produced are markedly different to those captured in the studio.

It’s one thing to record audio of a drummer and then digitally synthesize the reverberation to mimic various environments, but it’s another thing entirely to film a drummer actually playing in all of those environments and then stitch it together into a single track. That’s exactly what Audio Zero and Wikidrummers did with drummer Julien Audigier who played the same drum pattern in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations to show the effects of natural reverb, sometimes even blending multiple tracks into a single shot.

Audio Zero are three Liverpool based musicians intent on recharging the North West music scene with their own brand of euphoric synth-rock.

Having previously worked with the likes of Nick Raymond (Take That’s original A & R) and Craig Hardy (producer for McFly), lead singer Switch formed the band mid-2012 with the intention of assembling an outfit which would give the Liverpool music scene a much needed ‘electronic’ injection.
