Demelza is a designer who focuses on peoples perceptions and reactions to materials and forms, and relationships and connections with objects. She has designed a wide variety of work including accessories, lighting, furniture and public art. Demonstrating her passion for materials she uses familiar forms and interaction to evolve peoples impression of these everyday materials or functions.
‘I love playing with peoples perception of certain materials or shapes, showing them in a new way and allowing the consumer to envisage beyond their normal boundaries. By show-casing everyday items in this way I hope to encourage people to be more open minded about the amazing materials and processes that surround us’
Since 2007 Demelza has designed for other brands as well as on her own collection and often collaborates with others.
