Dylan Lynch is a young sculptor (b. 1987 Los Angeles, CA) associated with NY-based artist collective, The Still House Group. The objects Dylan uses are both minimalistic (in form and ornament) and utilitarian. He is best known for his prefabricated object assemblages exploring the relationship of balance between overlooked mass produced materials.

His focus has now shifted to a series of imploded steel drums, examining the phenomenon of internal destruction by which the product hides its process, but cannot escape its deformed state. Capturing movement along with a perfect balance of weight and force allows him to evoke the intuitive reactions he experiences as a result of his relationship with each object. He uses primary objects which are primary structures painted with primary colors.

Mostly store bought, his materials are chosen instinctively, based on immediate visceral attraction. Ignoring their function and the context of their everyday use, he reduces them to abstract forms.
