Mitrani’s practice spans sculpture, text, video, performance, and fashion. Her work has been exhibited at venues internationally, including Jeu de Paume Museum, Paris; Hors Pistes Festival at Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, New York; White Columns Gallery, New York; Brooklyn Academy of Music; Museum of Modern Art Bogotá; and MACRO Museum in Rome, among others; and has been featured in numerous film festivals and programs such as Women in the Director’s Chair in Chicago, Women Make Movies in New York, in competition in the 47 Oberhaussen Short Film Festival in Germany, and broadcast on the television networks SBS in Australia and ARTE-WDR in France and Germany. She won the MK2 2012 award at the ASVOFF held at the Pompidou center this past November.

Headpieces for Peace is a non-hierarchical, nomadic organization on a tandem bicycle that seeks to initiate free political action AND PROMOTE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST . The organization consists of 11 interchangeable and fluctuating members who believe that collective expressions of desire are possible.

Jessica mitrani was born in Colombia, lives and works in New York city. Mitrani’s practice, spans sculpture, text, video, performance, and fashion.
