Juliana Cerqueira – Corpo Digitalizado
“Corpo Digitalizado” is a work that requires public participation and, therefore, addresses subjects related to contemporary understanding of the human body and its relation with the machine and how the body acts before it.
The artist proposes that the public stay inside a booth for a few seconds and donate a small part of their time and bodies to be digitized by a scanner.
Biography:
A multimídia artist who graduated in Painting from UFRJ and attended IT and Social Communication courses. Juliana’s works include video exhibitions, performances, installations, and workshops, and were already presented in Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Brasília, João Pessoa, Tenerife, Madrid and France.
Juliana researches into the relation between man and machine and the new technologies that change the contemporary human organism. Her work is clearly guided by the intersections related to human beings exploring and questioning themes involving body, society, behavior, communication, and networks.

Abstract:
“Corpo Digitalizado” é um trabalho que diz respeito à participação do público e, consequentemente, às questões relativas à compreensão contemporânea do corpo humano e sua relação com a máquina, sua maneira de agir diante dela.
A artista propõe que o público pare por alguns segundos dentro de uma cabine e doe uma pequena parte do seu tempo e seu corpo, para ser digitalizado por um scanner.
Biography:
Artista multimídia, graduada em Pintura pela UFRJ, transitou pelos cursos de Informática e Comunicação Social. Os trabalhos de Juliana incluem mostras de vídeo, performances, instalações e oficinas, e já foram apresentados em Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Brasília, João Pessoa, Tenerife, Madri e França. Juliana pesquisa a relação do homem com a máquina e as novas tecnologias modificadoras do organismo humano contemporâneo. Seu trabalho é fortemente marcado pelas interseções pertinentes ao humano, onde explora e questiona temáticas envolvendo corpo, sociedade, comportamento, comunicação e redes.
