Peter Wegner is an American artist focused on the intersection of art and architecture. He is a graduate of Yale University, where he delivered a lecture in spring 2014 on the color blue.
His work can be found in many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, New York; The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum of Art, New York, New York; The L.A. County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, California; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, California; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, California; and the Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, Connecticut.
“Just as technology has enhanced our ability to craft extraordinary wines, technology has opened the door for new forms of creativity for visual artists. Peter Wegner’s work could only been done (as least in one lifetime) with the aid of a computer that selected and colored 443,520 pieces of paper. It is a magnificent work and especially so because of Peter’s cutting-edge use of technology.” –Kathryn Hall
