Sadie Coles first worked as a gallery director for Anthony d’Offay. She opened her own gallery, Sadie Coles HQ, in April 1997 with paintings by John Currin and an installation by Sarah Lucas, one of the Young British Artists. Jim Lambie, whom she represents, was a nominee for the 2005 Turner Prize.
