A series of long thin mirrors at various angles assembled into a collage create a fleeting mirage as users walk by and interact with it.
Created for Italian furnishing brand LEMA at Milan’s Salone del Mobile 2013, the modular Mirage can easily be transformed thanks to a clever coupling system.
“Each module is finished with a polishing that reminds us of classic mirror manufacturing, combining modernity and tradition; a complement that becomes a work of art and an innovative interpretation of a traditional piece of furnishing that is carried on with subtlety and lightheartedness.” says Yoshioka.

being shown at the 2013 salone internazionale del mobile in milan is ‘mirage’ for italian company lema – a shimmering collage of mirrored plates
designed by renowned japanese designer tokujin yoshioka. lined side by side, each panel is able to be manipulated and arranged at various positions
and angles, transforming the initial structure into several glimmering iterations – enabled by the specially designed modular coupling system.
‘mirage’ is a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional mirror manufacturing, merging the disciplines of art and design in one cohesive piece.
