Είναι ο Ελβετός Zimoun, του οποίου το τελευταίο έργο τιτλοφορείται «36 Ventilators, 4.7m3 Packing Chips» και πρόκειται για μια μεγάλη εγκατάσταση στο Museo d’ Arte di Lugano, στην Ελβετία.

Στα εννέα παράθυρα του χώρου, έχει τοποθετήσει τέσσερις ανεμιστήρες στο καθένα, τα οποία δημιουργούν κίνηση στις νιφάδες του φενιζόλ, εξαπολύοντας μια απίστευτη καταιγίδα.

Ο ήχος παραπέμπει σε έντονη βροχόπτωση ή μια σαρωτική χιονοθύελλα!

Швейцарский художник Zimoun, известный своими архитектурно-ориентированными звуковыми инсталляциями, представил свою новую работу из упаковочного пенопласта и 36 вентиляторов. Инсталляция установлена в оконных проемах Музея искусств в Лугано, в Швейцарии. Пенопласт летает и кружится, создавая ощущение снежной вьюги. De Zwitserse kunstenaar Zimoun onthulde deze grote installatie achter de ramen van het Museo d’ Arte di Lugano. Het kinetische kunstwerk bestaat uit 36 grote ventilatoren die voortdurend 4.7m3 verpakkingsafval tegen de ramen aanblazen. Vooral in de avond uren geeft dit een wonderbaarlijk effect. Het is bijna alsof je naar een turbulente witte zee zit te kijken.

Bern-based studio Zimoun presents a new site-specific installation, called “36 ventilators, 4.7m³ packing chips” at the Art Museum of Lugano, Switzerland. The exhibition space was filled with thousands of Styrofoam beads that dance in a perfect storm generated by thirty-six ventilators.

Zimoun thus artificially recreates the chaos of nature in a laboratory. The swirling of the polystyrene chips, lit at night time by halogen spotlights, recalls experiments on blizzards, waves breaking in glass tubes, the swarming of insects in glass cases.

“Even though the swirling of the polystyrene in the depth of each of the windows is actually limited to that space, we have the impression that the movement is propagating to the whole length of the Limonaia. To the visual effect adds the ticking of chips on the window panes, which could remind a thin but insistent rain.“

“If, instead, we cross the threshold and get inside the space, the perception produced by the ebb and flow of the chips changes radically becoming more abstract; the movement appears mechanical rather than natural, the buzzing of the ventilators covers up the ticking of the polystyrene on the windows and thus reveals the artificial origin of the motion” curators Guido Comis and Cristina Sonderegger explain about the installation.
