JONATHAN MONAGHAN
DAUPHIN 007
source: jonmonaghan
Referring to the heir-apparent to the French throne, Dauphin 007 is a short animation which draws on elements and narratives surrounding the French Revolution. Chronicling a would-be king lion who meets an untimely demise via a strange medical device, the piece is political and subversive yet ambiguous in its moral or meaning; an endless loop of seductive but ultimately vacuous simulation where meanings don’t quite materialize.
