Despertar
Reawaken é uma escultura cinética com 55 braços robóticos, movidos por 55 servo motores. O abaixamento dos braços provoca uma impressão abstrata no papel. A tecnologia reflete a humanidade e vice-versa. Além de criar beleza, a tecnologia existe para atender às nossas necessidades. Nós, e nossas necessidades, evoluímos a um ponto em que estamos tão integrados que consumimos tecnologia no piloto automático. Vivemos em uma época de produção em massa em que nossos dispositivos diários cada vez mais se imitam. Um smartphone é um pequeno tablet, um tablet é um pequeno computador e um computador é uma pequena televisão. A questão do que isso faz com nossa imaginação, junto com o progresso tecnológico cada vez mais invisível, como algoritmos e inteligência artificial, foram meu ponto de partida para o Reawaken.

This is the artistic result of a residency spent at CERN, where particles circulate on rings at great speed. The four lamps that are suspended from the ceiling also describe circles, but at varying speeds. Starting from there, every imaginable choreography is possible as well as every interpretation. The lamps describe figures that imperceptible transitions trigger one to the other. According to the artist, it’s only a question of mathematics here, though one asks oneself which one of the four incandescent lamps directs the others. And just as quick as they come into alignment as though linked by invisible ties, there is one that seems to accelerate while another can’t manage to keep up with the group. You can watch them for hours on end, hypnotised by the aesthetic beauty of physical laws. The artist, Julius von Bismarck, when receiving his prize admitted to having learned a lot at the CERN. It is likely that the scientists were also marked by his presence.

Não é fácil digerir o cinema de Alejandro Jodorowsky. Menos ainda talvez seja escrever qualquer coisa a respeito de seus filmes. E a situação pode ficar ainda mais complicada quando tratamos de A Montanha Sagrada. Pode-se dizer que o filme representa o auge da confluência criativa entre Jodorowsky, o cineasta e Jodorowsky, o mago. Nunca antes um filme fora tão bem sucedido ao capturar a poderosa essência imagética dos símbolos místico e religiosos. E vale notar aqui que religioso não tem nada a ver com crenças institucionalizadas, mas com o aspecto humano que lida com tudo o que é misterioso, invisível e sobrenatural.
