Artificial Emotion – South Korea

Can artificial intelligence replace human emotion as well as intellect? This work originates from this fundamental inquiry. The creative process involves presenting photographs to an AI and prompting it to visualize the perceived emotions as humanoid figures. Through this experience, the audience is confronted with the profound gap between their own intuitive feelings and the machine’s algorithmic interpretation and expression.

BIO

Chang Gi Lee is a media artist investigating the boundaries between nature, humanity, and AI. Holding an MS from KAIST and an MFA in Media Art, he combines technical precision with philosophical inquiry. Winner of the Alan Turing Award in Chicago and ISEA presenter, his work is showcased globally in New York and Paris.
