Flujos Rectificados / Rectified Flow – Chile

The video essay Flujos Rectificados (Rectified Flows) investigates the paradox of astronomical images not created for contemplation. Using generative art, the project processes FITS data to create dynamic visualizations that liberate these “technical images” from their operational function. The work explores their sensory and material potential, proposing new spaces of appearance and addressing the status of the image in the age of data.

BIO

Sebastián Arriagada (Chile) is an artist, researcher, and filmmaker. A professor at Universidad de Chile and PhD candidate at PUC, his work explores technical images and the limits of representation. His practice has been exhibited at Ars Electronica, Alchemy Film & Moving Image, FIDOCS, and Bienal de Artes Mediales, among other international venues and research hubs.
