Спустя шесть месяцев после болезненного расставания Лаура Стивенс (Laura Stevens), которая описывает себя как человека романтичного и эмоционального, решила поработать с чувствами. Ей помогали друзья и несколько незнакомых людей, согласившихся позировать для съёмки постановочных портретов, представляющих её переживания.

«Для меня важно было попытаться представить различные этапы эмоций, через которые проходят, когда переживают потерю», – говорит фотограф. Эту серию снимков она назвала «Другой ноябрь» (Another November). Сцены снимались в квартирах её друзей, но среди персонажей также были несколько женщин, к которым Лаура просто подошла на улице, потому что «почувствовала к ним естественное влечение и увидела чувствительность, которая помогла бы в работе над серией».

Все изображения сняты в Париже. Лаура Стивенс считает этот город ностальгичным и меланхоличным, что добавляет соответствующего настроения портретам. Она хотела поделиться опытом с другими людьми, чтобы показать, что мы не одиноки.

Another NovemberPhotographer Laura Stevens has created a body of work, Another November, that reflects that pain and loneliness of ending a relationship. Through a series of staged portraits, she finds those interior moments of feeling alone and untethered, using tonality and composition to create the mood.

Laura is an English photographer based in Paris, holding a BA in Art and Design and an MA in Photography from the University of Brighton. Stevens’ series of narrative portraits represent and fictionalise personal situations, using cinematic drama and painterly aesthetics along themes of intimacy, relationships and loss. Her work has been exhibited internationally, in the National Portrait Gallery, The Latvian Museum of Photography, The Centre for Fine Art Photography, Arles Photography Open Salon, Encontros da Imagem and the Singapore International Photography Festival. Stevens was awarded a special distinction in the LensCulture Emerging Talents 2014, selected for the PHPA (Photo d’Hotel Photo d’Auteur) 2014, The Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize 2013, a Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward Emerging Photographers 2012, received medals in the Px3 Prix de la Photographie Paris 2014 and 2012 and an honourable mention in the LensCulture Exposure Awards 2011. Another November

Following the ending of a significant relationship in my life, an undoing began. Whilst adjusting to being a single woman, I started to create a photographic narrative based on the experience of losing love; directing other women to portray the gradual emotional and circumstantial stages, along the well-trodden track of the broken-hearted.

By constructing images of the evolving chapters, I was allowed a vantage point from which to view the changes occurring in me, from feelings of pain, confusion and loneliness towards the reconstruction of my identity as an individual.

The series of staged performances by different women, of whom are friends or those I had been drawn to from the street, are enacted to show an intimate moment of adjustment. They are seen isolated, surrounded by textures, colour and empty spaces in a room of their home in Paris.

Another November is situated in a deliberately nostalgic present where memories are constructed and irrevocably discolour, looking back to a past not yet acquainted with loss. Yet, it is a reminder that time, the arranger of all things, moves only in one direction.

Another November è un racconto autobiografico sulla fine di un amore. Novembre è il mese che guarda all’inverno, alla fine della luce estiva. Ed il mese in cui la fotografa inglese Laura Stevens si è separata dal compagno. Da allora ha cominciato a cercare il senso della perdita, della nostalgia, della solitudine attraverso gli sguardi e i gesti di tante donne, diventate specchi nella sua vita.

«L’amore trasforma due persone in una, lavorando come per magia a creare un mondo unico che non esisteva prima. La fine dell’amore, per me, ha rappresentato la fine di questo sogno», spiega Stevens. «È stato un viaggio attraverso le dolorose tappe emotive orientato all’accettazione e al rinnovamento, in cui il tempo perde di importanza: il presente diventa una lotta, mentre il futuro semplicemente svanisce».

Il progetto Another November è servito alla fotografa per superare il dolore e per tracciare un confine verso una nuova vita, fatta di indipendenza e di scoperta di una nuova identità. E le ha anche permesso di vincere il prestigioso premio “LensCulture’s Emerging Talents 2014”.

L’autrice ha chiesto alle donne ritratte nelle fotografie di interpretare il dolore della perdita. «Si potrebbe dire che tutte le donne della serie sono fondamentalmente una sola. Sono rappresentazioni di me stessa», racconta Stevens.

Geralmente, quando você está em um dia péssimo, parece que o mundo todo está feliz e irradiante, menos você. Parece que todas as pessoas ganharam milhões na loteria. Parece que todas as mulheres acabaram de sair de um salão de beleza. Parece que enquanto todos estão na Disney, você está solitária no balanço da pracinha.

Quem passou por um momento semelhante a este foi a fotógrafa francesa Laura Stevens, após terminar um relacionamento. Ela acreditava que todo aquele cenário de tristeza e solidão pertencia só a ela, mas sabemos que não é bem assim.

Quem nunca chorou por um amor perdido (ou quase perdido)? Quem nunca ficou por horas ao lado do celular, esperando alguma ligação com um pedido de desculpas? Quem nunca encharcou um travesseiro com lágrimas?

Quando ela se ligou que não estava sozinha nessa situação, resolveu iniciar um ensaio fotográfico com algumas amigas e desconhecidas, apresentando a emoção das mulheres após um rompimento.

A série fotográfica ficou incrível e se chama “Another November” (Outro Novembro, em português), pois foi a época em que Laura terminou o seu relacionamento com o antigo boy magia.

A szakítás mindenképpen trauma mind a nő, illetve a férfi számára is. Legfőképpen akkor, amikor a felek szerelmesek egymásba, vagy csak az egyik fél szerelmes a másikba. Előfordul, hogy nincs más választás szakítani kell. Az élet megy tovább. Valami talán „meghalt”, de újra születhet minden, ha résen leszünk és végül, rátalálunk a nagy Ő-re!
