Graduate of the Danish school of design and the Central Saint Martins College of Fashion and Textile in 2000, Isabel Berglund, having already exhibited around the world, is now one of the creative artists who makes use of knitting in contemporary art. Using knitted wool to create sculptures, she creates archaic memories with the mesh, sometimes incorporating clothing fragments so you can curl up in the sculptures and experience the inside. An experimental space where human and material boundaries merge in a knitted web of emotion, her work puts the poetic insight of a child at our fingertips.

The Light Pavilion is designed to be an experimental space, one that gives us the opportunity to experience a type of space we haven’t experienced before. Whether it will be a pleasant or unpleasant experience; exciting or dull; uplifting or frightening; inspiring or depressing; worthwhile or a waste of time, it is not determined by the fulfillment of our familiar expectations, never having encountered such a space before. We shall simply have to go into the space and pass through it. Swing Time

SWING TIME est un espace de jeux interactif composé de 20 balançoires en forme d’anneau lumineux. L’installation active un parc temporaire entre le Boston Convention and Exhibition Center et D Street pour créer un espace public expérimental. Fabrication sur mesure à partir de polypropylène soudé, les balançoires sont conçus en trois tailles différentes de sorte que les spectateurs peuvent participer, le but de l’exercice, est de jouer avec SWING TIME à titre individuel ou en groupe.L’éclairage LED au sein de la balançoire est contrôlé par un micro-contrôleur personnalisé, signalisant le niveau d’activité de la balançoire. Un accéléromètre interne mesure les forces d’accélération de l’oscillation. Lorsque les forces sont statiques et les fluctuations ne sont pas utilisés, ils émettent une lumière douce, blanche qui éclaire la zone. Lorsque les balançoires sont en mouvement, le micro-contrôleur allume la lumière du blanc au violet, en créant un effet lumineux coloré.

Avec Density Compression [2020], Fujimoto tourne son attention vers les comportements fondamentaux de la lumière visible, en se concentrant sur les lignes droites et la réflexion. En représentant la lumière comme un réseau dense de lignes voyageant dans un espace limité, l’artiste rend la lumière comme un objet physique, lui permettant d’explorer et finalement de changer son comportement de base. La pièce est accompagnée d’une partition atmosphérique du compositeur expérimental et affilié de Raster-Noton Kyoka.

En 2016, Dirk Koy a fondé le studio de motion design et de film expérimental «Dirk Koy Bild und Bewegung». Dans son travail, il utilise différentes technologies (drones / animation 2D et 3D / photogrammétrie / AR / VR) pour créer des images numériques en mouvement. Il explore l’interface entre réalité et virtualité et recherche également la composante picturale dans le contexte numérique. L’expérience joue un rôle central.

Density Compression
With Density Compression [2020], Fujimoto turns his attention towards fundamental behaviours of visible light, focusing on straight lines and reflection. By representing light as a dense network of lines travelling in limited space, the artist renders light as a physical object, allowing him to explore and ultimately change its basic behaviour. The piece is accompanied by an atmospheric score from experimental composer and Raster-Noton affiliate Kyoka.

The Smog Project
Dubai-based architecture firm Znera Space have released “The Smog Project,” a design to clean the air in Delhi, one of the world’s most polluted cities. Shortlisted in the World Architecture Festival’s Experimental Project Category, the Smog Project hopes to address Delhi’s noxious air quality by adding a network of smog filtering towers throughout the entire city. India’s capital has become known for toxic smog levels from overcrowding and industrial waste. Znera’s proposal hopes to cleanse the smog chamber and generate smog free air.

Dutch-Croatian photographer Sanja Marušić uses an experimental approach to colour, composition, materials, and manipulations in her work to create dreamlike scenes that are at once cinematic and alienating.She travels the world in her production of these otherworldly images, finding settings and forms that play with our relation to the subconscious, simplifying the bodies of her subjects with geometric shapes, and abstracting the human form even further by incorporating stylised dance movements.Putting places above people, many of Sanja’s photographs are set in wide open futuristic spaces in an attempt to create surreal and alienating visual emotions. She often uses cool and bright colours as well as singular objects and accessories in order to create unique and enigmatic narratives.

Experimental project SYMMETRYSCOPE tryes get to the bottom of symmetry and reveal its possibilities. At first step the liner symmetry was investigated and several columns were made. The principle consisted in the rotation and mirroring geometrically simple shapes (tetrahedron). However, the geometry of the column did not allow any internal spaces and so were unusable for architectural purposes. Another move forward was done by the planar symmetry. The principle was similar to the columns. The effort was to achieve interior spaces.

Often occupying both physical and temporal space, my sculpture has always incorporated both conventional and experimental media, including woodcarving, metalworking, installation, kinetics, microelectronics and video. While it tends to be visually diverse, the friction between object and memory has been at the conceptual core of my sculptural practice since 1994. The images, objects and narratives of a particular place or experience undergo distortions each time they are represented, and it is these forms of abstraction I explore in my sculpture.
Earlier bodies of work have utilized the physical residue of my traveling – the souvenirs, postcards, snapshots and videotapes – as central elements of the sculpture, forcing them to reveal their own inadequacy, disengagement or transformation, to subvert the nostalgic ideal, or to disrupt the usual implications of value and validation in a cultural artifact. In later works I utilize the physicality of scale, motion, and orientation to extend and challenge the conventional representation of landscape. These pieces define specific places as indefinite spatial constructs that complicate the certainty of “being there,” and are part of a larger attempt to relate a fragmented travel narrative through architecture, landscapes and souvenirs.
I have been using IKEA products as raw material for several years, and continue to be interested in extracting conceptual value from it. I am currently exploring the relationship between the Modern avant-garde and contemporary consumer design culture. In my recent work, I attempt to articulate various points of connection and rupture between IKEA and the Bauhaus by constructing scale models of demolished or unrealized buildings by Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius using “hacked” IKEA products such as tables, bookshelves and flooring.

In the weird and wonderful world of quantum mechanics, dimensional transmutation describes a phenomena which changes the state of a parameter by adding dimensions to its dimensionless condition. This experimental film applies this principle to visualize the complex interactions between atmosphere and climate. It utilizes a six-dimensional framework, comprised of regular space-time augmented with climate data collected between 1993 and 2011.Changes in global tropospheric temperature, mean sea level, and atmospherical co2 concentration are mapped onto the color palette, shape, and stereoscopic depth of a video clip, depicting a low-lying shoreline in Indonesia, threatened by rising sea levels.The film begins ‘flat’, but over time, with increasing co2 concentration in the atmosphere, its stereoscopic depth expands, and the landscape opens up to the observer, while temperature and sea-level changes modify color and shape.
