Tiresias is a meditation on blindness as spiritual blindness and lack of foresight. Inspired by the blind prophet of Greek mythology Tiresias, a liminal being who exists as man and woman, between humankind and gods, blindness and sight, the piece critically examines AI recursive mirror by reimagining Tiresias, who can no longer see in darkness because it is replaced by recursion, self-replication, and infinite feedback loops of mirrored images. Blindness is not the absence of sight but its saturation.

BIO

Di Francesco is a London-based artist merging poetics with code across video, text and installation. Her practice takes an existential, critical approach to the human condition in machine-mediated reality. Through meticulous processes, generative and hand-painted frame by frame, she reclaims agency in temporality and time consciousness as forms of resistance against speed, acceleration, distraction.
