Fiber Optic Dress

La créatrice Natalia Walsh, de San Francisco, a transformé les concepts de mode et a créé une robe innovante qui brille dans le noir.
Pour élaborer la pièce, l’artiste a réalisé un modèle basique blanc avec une jupe  ballon et un support pour les poignées des sources lumineuses. Ensuite, elle a inséré les fils de fibre optique autour du corps de la robe, les laissant vers le sol pour créer un effet dynamique.Pendant que le modèle bouge et marche, les fibres optiques changent de couleurs différentes.

This poetic machine prints your message and a code on a sheet A6, slips it into a biopolymer cylinder attached to a balloon, which is finally released into the air. Then, the balloon will travel haphazardly to a potential recipient.
Where did the idea come from? The basic idea was to take a stand against the current use of «smart» technologies by creating a poetic concept, using current technology that allows us to communicate differently and rediscover expectation, the random, and the unexpected.
For the record, I have always been attracted by what is in the air and remember having won a balloon release contest when I was about ten years old. My balloon flew from Switzerland to Austria, this definitely left an impression on me and perhaps influenced the idea of this project.

The Top Shot Helmet alters one’s spatial perception. Wearers see themselves from above and must guide their movements and orient themselves from this perspective. The device consists of a round helmet, above which floats a helium balloon attached to the helmet with strings. The balloon carries a small video camera operated by radio signal, which points downward with a wide-angle lens. The view captured by the camera is projected onto a pair of video glasses in the helmet. Wearers of the helmet can only see the image produced by these glasses and must use this to make their way through a given space. By moving the head, the person wearing the helmet can turn and tilt the balloon and camera. A handle on the helmet makes it possible to adjust the height of the balloon and thereby adjust one’s field of vision.

Cuboid Balloon

Quando olhamos para a obra Cuboid Balloon, do artista Junya Ishigami, a primeira coisa que passa pela cabeça é imaginar como uma estrutura pode parecer tão imensamente pesada e, ao mesmo tempo, parecer flutuar? Trata-se de um pensamento absurdo, mas é impossível não refletir sobre esta dualidade. O cubo gigantesco de fato está lá, flutuando, no átrio do Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Tóquio. E o mais incrível é que o balão de alumínio, que pesa uma tonelada, é capaz de pairar no ar por causa de 1.000 m³ de um outro elemento muito simples, o gás hélio.
